Personality Theory

This theory stresses the significance of the self-actualizing tendency in the shaping of human personalities.  It stresses change, potential for humans to do good, and growth.  This was based on humanistic psychology and theories of subjective experience.  

Ideal Self vs Real Self 

The person that you would like to be is your Ideal Self, the person you actually are is your Real Self.  He wanted to find a consistency between the two or a congruence.  High congruence means higher self worth and a productive, healthy life.
